The ruler of the North, Fernan, who returned triumphant from conquering wars. That man, flawless in every way, was the only fond memory in Julia’s unhappy childhood.
When she heard he would become her husband, Julia believed in the existence of a god for the first time.
But,
“If there’s anything you want, do as you please. Renovate the estate, buy jewels, throw parties it doesn’t matter. Just don’t let me see you in the morning. Refrain from such antics.”
The kind man from her memories was gone. Only a cold, distant figure stood before her, allowing neither affection nor warmth.
“Your heart is utterly useless to me.”
Yet, loving him to the end was Julia’s greatest mistake.
Standing at the edge of a cliff, Julia slowly etched the face of the man who once was her entire world into her eyes.
If not now, she’d never escape. She’d fall in love with him again. She no longer wanted to be bound to him.
“Julia!” As her husband rushed toward her in desperation, Julia threw herself off the cliff.
