Second Half

“I don’t need your hand, so get lost, you bastard.” Having reached the UEFA Champions League Final for the second time in his career only to suffer defeat again, Ban Je-rim ended up forcefully brushing off Aaron Reyes—the opposing team’s striker and his former youth academy teammate—when he offered him a hand. Because of that, Je-rim was once again swept up in rumors of a feud. In truth, they didn’t get along anyway, so rather than “rumors,” it was simply a real feud. Since they played in different leagues, he lived without paying it much attention. “Let’s try to get along again from now on, Je-rim.” …That was, until just a month later, when Aaron made a free transfer* and joined the same club as him, Sefton FC. It was already bad enough becoming teammates with the guy who had just screwed him over in the final—but to make things worse, that same guy was his ex-boyfriend from long ago. And they hadn’t exactly broken up on good terms. *A free transfer: when a player moves clubs after their contract expires, without a transfer fee being paid.
